John Pletcher
Owner/Principal Designer

John’s love for the beauty of the natural environment and the importance of light began long before he opened Natural Accents L.L.C. Growing up, his father’s floral business offered many opportunities for John to realize how light can draw one’s attention to one particular flower out of many other similar blooms. From there, he moved to Boulder, Colorado, where the interplay of light and shadows on the Rocky Mountain landscape was extraordinary. After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1988, John moved to southern California. This environment gave him the opportunity to focus on light’s interplay with water.

Using all of this knowledge and passion for art, light and nature, John founded Natural Accents L.L.C. in 2002. His ability to understand his clients’ needs, as well as his desire to give each client the best in personalized service, has earned him great success over the years. He has won three national awards for his designs from the LVLIA (Low Voltage Lighting Institute of America) and AOLP (Association of Outdoor Lighting Professionals) organizations. He has also been featured in multiple regional publications. John is actively involved in the entire design and installation process with the members of his team, as well as ensuring that his systems are adequately maintained long after the initial installation. He is a current member of the AOLP.

Technical Team

Natural Accents’ team of lighting technicians is trained to handle all aspects of low voltage lighting installation, maintenance and repair. The individual members of the group have a broad range of experience in the fields of landscaping, electrical work and construction. This background provides the knowledge required for Natural Accents’ creative lighting designs.
